The young and beautiful actress in Malayalam film industry- Bhavvana made her way into the field with her immense talent and charming beauty. She became one of the new sensation actress in a very short span of time.

Her very first film was a mega hit Malayalam movie- Kamal's 'Nammal' (2002). Though she acted in a supporting role in the film, she was noticed and aptly rewarded for her acting talent. In the film she portrayed the character 'Parimalam', a girl living in a slum, exceptionally well.

After her first debut film she bagged many films like 'Chronic Bachelor'(2003), 'CID Moosa' (2003), 'Swapnakoodu' (2003), 'Ivar' (2003), 'Chathikkatha Chanthu' (2004), 'Chanthupottu' (2005), 'Naran'(2005) etc. and most of them were hits.

The daughter of assistant cameraman G. Balachandran, Bhavvana was a 11th class student when she got her break in films. The young actress is now getting a shower of offers from well known directors from Malayalam as well as the Tamil film Industry.

She has a very pleasing demeanor and always wants to build up good kinship with the people around her. She aspires to become a good actress and to get very good recognition in days to come.

Nitin-Bhavana affair is a promotional gimmick


The only motto behind all promo activities in the cinema industry is to draw the audience to cinema halls. Any gimmick would sell the cinema, provided it gels with the target audience's mindset.

Knowing the various marketing techniques among the filmmakers, few veterans in Telugu Cinema argue that the grapevine about actress Bhavana's closeness to upcoming Telugu hero Nitin is nothing but a 'promotional gimmick' for their upcoming film Hero directed by GV and produced by Manyam Ramesh.

Earlier, rumours about the pair's off-screen romance
spread fast as the shooting Hero progressed in Telugu Cinema. The news was that actor Nitin has fallen for the bubbly Malayalee actress Bhavana. Bhavana neither accepted nor declined this news and kept silent on this issue, as usual. However, some industry watchers say this could be a promotional gimmick for the movie.


Nitin, who has recently joined the elite club of six pack heroes, is the busiest young hero around with almost half a dozen offers on hand. Nitin was earlier linked with Genelia. Some gossip-mongers went to extreme levels and spread rumours that they are planning to marry! But the gossip died a natural death.

Let us wait and see whether Nitin-Bhavana are really in love, or this is just another rumour that occasionally plagues Telugu Cinema or we have one more promotional gimmick!


Bhavana excited to work in three languages!

The cute actress from Kerala Bhavana has completed shooting for the film ‘Jeyam Kondaan’ opposite Vinay and is eagerly waiting for the release of the film. The actress is currently shooting for a Telugu film titled ‘Hero’ with Nithin. Bhavana has also signed to act in a Malayalam film opposite Prithviraj. The film is to be directed by Shafi and the title for the film is yet to be announced. The film stars Prithviraj, Bhavana, Jayasurya, Kunjako Boban and Roman in the lead roles. Bhavana is very much excited to work simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.



Bhavana admired by Uzbekistan!
The shooting for the film ‘Jayam Kondaan’ is directed by Kannan, who was the assistant of the ace director Mani Rathnam. The film is progressing well. Bhavana plays lead role along with Vinay and Lekha Washington. The unit was in Uzbekistan to shoot a song sequence. ‘Jayam Kondaan’ is the first film to be shot in Uzbekistan. The director says that the place looks like Chennai twenty five years ago with less traffic and pollution. He says that the people are very nice and friendly and they were very happy to watch a film’s shooting. They were also flattened by Bhavana’s beauty and wanted to take a photograph with her. There was gatecrash and people were falling to take a photo with the actress. One old lady pushed everyone and insisted that unless she is not allowed to take a photo with Bhavana she would not let the shooting progress.


Arya to release in April

Arya the movie for Bhavana in the industry with Madhavan in the lead role is to be released in the last week of April. Bhavana has been roped in for another movie with Madhavan and the movie is titled Vazhthukkal. Seeman will direct the movie and the shooting of the movie is to commence in the near future with the photo session of the movie having been completed. Meanwhile Bhavana starrer movie Veyyil has completed 100 days and running successfully in the industry. She is happy that the audience are enjoying her movies and she is happy doing family oriented subjects in the movies and thinks that glamorous roles does not suit her.

Bhavana was well appreciated by the audiences in her debut movie and thus she started to receive good projects and one among them was Veyyil with Bharath doing the lead role. The movie is directed by Vasantha Balan for Shankar under the banner of S pictures. The movie has all the commercial elements to make it a hit movie. The movie is actually about a person who in the craze for movies runs away from home and returns back and the family emotions on the person’s arrival is pictured very well by the director. The way the story is told is very good with the love story of two pairs; Bharath and Bhavana and Pasupathy and Shreya Reddy simultaneously.



Rameswaram has Bhavana with Jeeva
Bhavana has got a long list of movies to be released and three of her movies namely Chithram Pesudathi, Kizhakku Kadarakarai Salai and Veyyil have been released. She is also working for the movies like Deepavali, Arya and Naan Kadavul. She has now signed up for a movie named Rameswaram in which Jeeva will be doing the lead role. The movie is actually about the life and sufferings of the Srilankan refugees. To perform the real life of the refugees on screen, Jeeva and Bhavana have been visiting the refugees who are staying the Mandapam champ in Rameswaram. It is hoped that the movie will do very well in the theatre.

Bhavana and Jayam Ravi starrer movie Deeppavali has been released and the movie is of a very different kind. Bhavana has made up her mind to star in movies with good story and this is one of them. This movie will sure make her a very good artist in the industry and more offers will come her way. The movie is about a girl who forgets the happenings for the past three years in life. Meanwhile she is in love with a boy and also enjoys being with him. If cured she would forget all about the boy but she is cured and forgets her relationship with him. How the boy attempts to make her remember everything is the story of the movie.


Chotta Mumbai is a commercial entertainer

Anwar Rasheed has chosen to entertain the mass audiences and that has worked well in the movie Chotta Mumbai. Mohanlal has played the role of Vasco who wants to make it big but is cheated by the local gangster by giving away money in order to go aboard and earn money. Mohanlal’s father wants him to get married and introduces him to a girl, an auto driver who happens to be Bhavana. Mohanlal gets money by pledging the auto of Bhavana to return their house. But eventually falls in love with her. In the meantime they witness the murder of a person and a politician, the murderer tries to kill Mohanlal and Bhavana. How they both hand over the politician to the law and join hands in life is the rest of the movie.


Bhavana stunning in Sagar Alias Jacky

Bhavana is the female lead in Sagar Alias Jacky. SAJ is the new movie by director Amal Neerad after his successful venture 'Big B' with Mammotty. SAJ has mohanlal as the male lead and it is said to be the sequel of his old mega hit Rajavinte Makan. The costumes of Mohanlal looks much similar to that of Mammotty in Big B. Hope Amal Nirad wont get typecasted as an underworld based movie director like RGV in bollywood. We may recall that Amal is from the same RGV school so obviously he might have got that typical RGV style of film making.

Bhavana as the female lead may only get the same footage as that of Mamta Mohandas in Big B. We cannot expect more from a movie with such a dark theme. At the maximum she may be able fire a few bullets at the opponents in addition to looking Tom boyish. Of course she looks stunning in those Black costumes. Now that is some what different from her glamourous steamy appearence in twenty 20 and Lollipop. So have a look at the new stunning Bhavana with mohanlal in Sagar Alias Jacky.

The makers of ‘Sagar, Alias Jacky, Reloaded’ had made it a point during the production days of the movie that this is neither a sequel to the original big hit of the eighties, nor they are trying to take any of its subject matter to round up as a movie.


But the majority of the film buffs were never ready to swallow this and as the hype and hoopla around the movie raised manifolds, the ”cinephiles ” seem to have approached the movie as if it is a sequel.

The associated” publicity overkill ‘is taking a toll on the film’s box office prospects as the majority opines this as not on par with the content of the original, but as a movie full of style, with little substance.

Now let’s start straight.


There is absolutely no comparison between the original hit ”Irupathaam Noottandu” and this movie named after its central character. Even as the former had a protagonist, a simple man getting fixed amidst crimes, who dreamed about the glorified lifestyles of underworld dons in Mumbai, here we have one who enjoys more than an aggrandized life patterns, often called for help by even other bigger dons.

An underworld don who operates internationally, Sagar Alias Jacky had to deal with the likes of Naina (Suman) and Goa based Rozario brothers who want to do away with Sagar.

But each time Sagar with his fearlessness and brilliance in plotting, outplays them. The film starts off very interestingly when Indhu(Shobhana), the daughter of the state chief minister (Nedumudi Venu) calls Sagar to save her husband Manu (Manoj K Jayan) from the clutches of Rozario brothers.

Sagar gets into action and releases him with little fisticuffs. This mission lands him into further troubles, which lead to a chain of gang war, deceit and shooting .To engage the more time of the movie , arrives the heroine Aarathy Menon (Bhavana), a savvy channel reporter, who starts to report on Sagar but predictably falls for his gamut of presentations as a guardian angel. Undoubtedly, the movie is the most slick and stylishly made one which seldom tries to cling on to a plot. Often we have pointless and constant changes of direction to the story, to set the stage for potentially entertaining or nerve-wracking set pieces that rarely show up. And with plenty of men with differing shades of villainy, this dark thriller fails to create characters that have enough roots for any morals.

Mohanlal who is in almost every frame after his introduction, manages to salvage the film by a considerable extent, even though his character is too unidimensional, offering no complex scenes for the versatile actor to cherish.

With veteran S N Swamy’s screenplay and dialogues that fails to live up to the best of the visuals, the movie often looks like an overcooked meal ” - which give the star’s fans space for wolf-whistles for a punch line or a meticulously conceived entry shots at regular intervals. And in fact, there is little beyond that.

Mollywood needs to wake up to the fact that this man is a natural actor who can handle any great thing on screen acting, than being confined to these types of films.

Most others in the cast have delivered brilliant performances. The name of Sampath who appears as Rozario definitely needs a special mention. Amal Neerad has also brought in the best work from his technicians including the editor Vivek Harsha and art and costume departments. There is hardly any frame in the film that is not color corrected and toned.

Amal as a cinematographer has also played his part to make the movie better, with his brilliant visual aesthetics. He seems to have a special penchant for wide and low angles and hardly lit interiors, and loud and contrasting BG scores (that is evident from his debut film Big B).

Gopi Sundar has worked hard on the rerecording and his songs too suit the films moods, but the Lal - Bhavana song comes up as a speed breaker.

Even though the movie designed in the assembly line of stylized gangster movies of Bollywood, lacks a consistent flow in narratives and is a little slimmer in content, Amal Neerad definitely needs to be appreciated for trying some thing of this sort of visual splendour for the Kerala Audiences. Considering the quality of movies churned out in Mollywood these days,”Sagar Alias Jacky, Reloaded ”, must be definitely promoted for the quality of making, rather than for its thematic content.
