A popular actress in both the Telugu and Tamil industry, Tamanna Bhatia was born on December 21, 1989. Her parents are Santosh Bhatia and Rajani Bhatia. She has a brother called Anand Bhatia. Fluent in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and English, Tamanna made her debut as a heroine in the Hindi film ‘Chand Sa Roshan Chehra'. She made her debut in Tamil with Ravi Krishna's film ‘Kedi'. How is life after the success of Happy Days movie?
Happy Days success made me busy in Telugu and Tamil film industries. I am doing all quality projects now.
How did KIKK happen?
I was looking to do a quality love story and KIKK came on my way. It was a perfect choice for me. I am playing the role of Geeta. I am doing the role of a village girl for the first time in my career. Geeta is also understated and sober person. She has principles and certain views which she follows religiously. It is a sweet character.
How is like working with Siddhardh?
I saw Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana and Siddhardh is a fabulous actor. I also loved Rang De Basanthi. We make a perfect couple of KIKK. Siddhardh is awesome in love stories.
Tell us about the director Kishore Kumar?
Though he is a first timer, you do never feel that you are working with a debutant director. He is confident about the script. Script is the biggest plus of the film. He has got great organization skills which made the jobs of us easier. We finished the shoot as per the schedule because of his planning.
How is Bujji as a producer?
He is thorough professional and would go to any extent to get his product right.
What do you think will be highlights of the film?
Apart from the script, music and the combination of Siddhardh and Prakash Raj are going to be highlights.
1. Music: Music is interwoven with the story. All the numbers of KIKK are melodious and meaningful. Music will pep-up the film and raise the levels of emotional scenes.
2. Prakash Raj – Siddhardh combination: Prakash Raj and Siddhardh make the perfect pair of father and son. They played as father and son in NVNV and Bommarillu. But their relationship in KIKK is going to be entirely different.
Which language do you prefer – Telugu or Tamil?
My preference is always to the script. Not to any language.
What do you look for in scripts?
I look for the pace (speed) in narration. I feel that pace is very important along with the emotions for any film.
What are the other projects you are doing now?
I am currently doing the Tamil remake of Jab We Met which is being produced by Moser Baer. Bharat (Premiste fame) plays male lead. I am also doing another Tamil film in Lingu Swamy direction. Karthik plays the hero. I got offers in huge projects of Telugu cinema including that of Mahesh Babu, but could not accept them due to dates problem.
Who is your role model as an actress?
I grew up watching Madhuri Dixit films. Madhuri Dixit is my role model.
What is your dream role?
Chandramukhi character played by Jyothika.
Did you watch any movies recently?
I watched Ghajini and Slumdog Millionaire. I loved both the films. I am highly impressed with the soundtrack of Slumdog Millionaire. It is as haunting as that of Titanic soundtrack.
What are your all time favorite movies?
Titanic, Moghul E Azam, Life is Beautiful, Dil To Pagal Hain and DDLJ.
How do you maintain your fitness?
I do make sure that I workout for 30 minutes to one hour every day. I do run, exercise or dance. Consistency is important.
What about diet?
I avoid fattening foods (fried or oily). I don’t stop any anything, but eat little bit of everything. I eat in small quantities.
How do you manage your looks?
I have to take care of what God has given me. I do sleep a lot. I do take off make-up as soon as the shooting is over. I do take right food. The body recuperates faster if our diet is good.
What are your hobbies?
I sleep a lot. I do watch lots of films in my spare time. I do relax and prefer to me along whenever I find some idle time. I do also write poetry and quotations. I am a day-dreamer.
Do you have a facebook profile?
I don’t have a facebook profile. But some miscreant created a profile on my name with my photographs and got himself/herself into the friends list of many celebrities. I am going to launch a complaint with cyber police now. The same thing happened with Varun Sandesh too in the past.

Tamanna is filled with offers. She will be acting in the films including 'Oru Koodai Muththam 100 Rubaai'. Director Suraaj has tried his hand at time-tested theme. An average-looking youth, who falls in love with a rich and a charming girl. He overcomes a gang of baddies who bay for his blood to eventually hold the hands of his beloved. Suraaj has tried a marriage between action and comedy. However a sense of deja vu prevails as the film progresses.
The director has strictly applied the rules of Tamil film grammar in the first-half as the hero is ridiculed by his father, he spends his time with a set of good-for-nothing friends and cliched sequences leading to romance blossoming between the lead pair. Towards the latter part, the influence of 'mirch masala' Telugu action films cannot be denied.
Radhakrishnan alias Rocky (Dhanush) is the youngest son of an auditor (Prathap Pothen) in Chennai. In the family of intellectuals, Rocky is unique. He has been attempting for several years to pass his matriculation examinations. This invites the wrath of his father.
Inspired by one of his friend's (Suman Shetty) suggestion that he love a well-educated girl and marry her, Rocky begins his search for one. He comes across Gayathri (Tamanna), an aeronautical student. As usual after 'cat and mouse game', Rocky wins over Gayathri's heart. Unfortunately a group of goons from Andhra Pradesh come after her. Gayathri gets rescued by her father Samarasinha Reddy (Suman), a rich and an influential man in Andhra Pradesh. She is forced to go to her native by father.
Meanwhile, Rocky begins his journey in search of his beloved. When he lands in Andhra Pradesh, he is thrown open to many challenges and surprises. He starts to fight unknown enemies. When it looks like he had sorted out all troubles and ready to hold Gayathri's hands, hurdle comes in the form of Kasi (Atul Kulkarni), a dreaded goon from Thirunelveli . How he clears the last hurdle in his journey to wedlock his beloved forms the climax.
It is a 'typical' Dhanush in the film. He plays to his strength. Thanks to his boy-next-door looks, he manages to bring life into the character. Dhanush has managed well to combine both action and humour. His hard toil is visible all through the film.
Tamanna looks fresh and refreshing. Though she plays a cliched heroine in the film, her charming looks does woo the audience. Vivek as 'Assault' Arumugham evokes abundant humour. In the company of 'Cell' Murugan and 'Bonda' Mani, he is at his best bringing the roof down with laughter. Interestingly, Vivek does a Vadivelu this time around.
He seems to have been part of a comedy track that Vadivelu had often played in his earlier movies.
Suman as Tamanna's dad fits the role well, while the likes of Shayaji Shinde and Atul Kulkarni speak from their belly. Of course a host of stunt artistes wielding sickles and guns do form part of the movie.
Mani Sharma's has come up with a racy music thanks to his chart busters in recent Telugu films. Produced by Vijaya Productions and presented by Sun Pictures, Padikkathavan reminds us of films like Winner and Run. It would be a treat for those who love some hardcore action combined with fun.
Padikkathavan is worth a watch for its unadulterated masala.
Ayan
Ayan is a forthcoming Kollywood film directed by cinematographer K.V. Anand. The film stars Surya Sivakumar, Tamanna Bhatia, and Prabhu Ganesan in leading roles and is produced under the AVM Productions banner.
The music composer of the film is Harris Jayaraj.
In Tamil: 'Ayan' is the name of Brahma, the Creator. 'Ayan' also means Shepherd. 'Ayan' is also a form of African drumming. 'Ayan' in Turkish, means "obviously" or "clearly".
Suriya, who has earlier done 'Perazhagan' with AVM, is doing his second movie with the prestigious company.
The story is said to be a romantic comedy laced with lot of action. Suriya plays a cool guy who makes others laugh.
Suriya recently developed his six packs which looks very awesome for him.
Tamanna, who has got a real break after her good performance in Balaji Sakthivel’s 'Kalloori' is quite happy to act opposite a leading young star.
The movie is scheduled to be shot in Malaysia and South Africa. Many of its portions will be shot in Chennai as well.
For several hundred sq.km. no man’s land, Surya, Tamanna and 40 member crew tented over there. In the night, its about 5 degrees, and in the noon, about 40 degrees under scorching sun, shooting was carried out.
Without any human scent, apart from nature’s obstacles, Nenje Nenje song penned by Poet Vairamuthu, was shot. The scenic locales which are ion the border of Namibia and Botswana were captured well and a song was shot at the desert coats.
KV Anand, who introduced Prithviraj in ‘Kana Kandein’ will introduce a new villain in his forthcoming directorial venture 'Ayan', starring Suriya. He is in search for a new face for the baddie role from other languages. Prabhu will done an important role in the film, produced by AVM.
Anand also added that Saigal is going to be the perfect foil to Surya’s character and the team is sure going to rock. Ayan shooting will go on till June 3 in Malaysia.
Ayan is releasing on March 22, 2009.

Paiya will be the second release for actor Surya’s brother Karthi who has got a sensational hit Paruthiveeran. Paruthiveeran was renowned nationally and was money grosser.
Director Linguswamy is completing shooting at a fast pace as he has problem with the dates of lead actors Tamannah and Karthi.
The movie is said to be a remake of a Hollywood blockbuster Hitcher.
A couple goes on a highway on a car and incidentally meets a person on the journey. The movie is a three day Journey which takes place in between Bangalore and Mumbai. The suspense element and the spine chilling thrill starts from this person’s entry.
The story of Paiya is in these lines, the director has changed some sequences to add masala element to spice up the film to suit the Tamil audiences taste.
Paiya created much hype when its initial female lead Nayantara was banned from the industry. Thamanna is handling the lead female role which was planned for Nayanthara earlier. Problems which started during Paiya’s Pre production stage have led Tamil industry to ban Nayanthara.
The movie is expected to have everything which is needed to make the movie a super hit.Linguswami has made good name in industry as a director. Later he turned producer. His film Deepavali starring Jayam Ravi and Bavana had done well. It’s a love story which had good fight sequences.
Paiya’s Bangalore schedule was completed successfully. Paiya’s remaining shoot, most of which involves the lead pair of Tamannaah and Karthi is going on in Hyderabad.
Karti at the same time is acting in Selvaraghavan’s Aayirathil Oruvan.
Mr. Linguswamy is all set to release this film by the last week of April.

Siddharth - Tamanna in a dam
Guess it all started with Kaaka Kaaka or rather that was the film that popularized the idea of a lake house. This was later replicated in many films but was used mainly for song sequences that had no bearing in the story of the film.
Director Gandhi Krishna has also come up with a similar idea. His previous film Chellame was a hit, the director is now back with Anandha Thandavam, featuring debutant Siddharth and Tamanna of Kalloori fame.
This film has music scored by G.V. Prakash and cinematography by Shankar. Anandha Thandavam’s shooting has been going on at full pace in and around courtallam. The director felt the need to erect a floating house and it was done at the cost of Rs.20 lakhs on the banks of the Papanaasam dam, which is now almost full due to good monsoon.
A song sequence is being shot there with Siddharth and Tamanna for the past two days. About 100 workers from nearby localities were employed for a week to build this house using 150 drums to keep it afloat. Hope he gives us another romantic thriller ala Chellame and after the success of Kalloori fans of Tamanna can’t wait to see her again on screen.
